Community Partnerships

At HIANA, we believe that collaboration is key to creating lasting change. That’s why we partner with local businesses, schools, colleges, and community organisations to provide young people with impactful, meaningful opportunities. Together, we’re building stronger, more resilient communities.

What We Do

HIANA’s Community Partnerships programme is focused on building strong networks with local organisations to create opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and thrive. By collaborating with community stakeholders, we expand our reach and maximise the positive impact we bring to our youth programmes.

Our work includes a partnership with Premier Gospel Radio, where we recently created a programme introducing young people to the world of media and communications. This collaboration gave students hands-on experience in broadcasting, a glimpse into potential careers, and the confidence to explore new skills. Additionally, we work closely with Our Lady and St Hubert's Catholic Primary School, organising workshops and community events to help foster a positive learning environment and promote personal development among young students. With support from Sandwell Council, we’ve been able to extend our reach, gaining vital resources and local support to make a greater impact in the area.

Who We Support

Our Community Partnerships programme is designed to support young people aged 5-25 from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who can benefit most from community resources, mentorship, and engagement. We partner with educational institutions like Our Lady and St Hubert's Catholic Primary School to provide workshops and enrichment activities, and our work with Sandwell Council helps us support a broad range of needs, from career development to community engagement.

By connecting young people with local businesses, community leaders, and educational resources, we ensure they have access to the support and opportunities needed to grow confidently in school, work, and beyond.

When To Get Involved

Our Community Partnerships initiatives run throughout the year, and we welcome new partners, volunteers, and supporters at any time. Businesses, community groups, and individuals can get involved by sponsoring programmes, volunteering, or joining us in organising events that engage and inspire young people.

For instance, our partnership with Premier Gospel Radio provides ongoing opportunities for young people interested in media, while our collaborations with local schools and Sandwell Council operate seasonally, aligning with the academic year. Whether you're a business, school, or individual wanting to support youth development, there’s always a way to contribute.

Why Community Partnerships Matter

At HIANA, we understand that building a supportive community for young people requires collaboration. Our Community Partnerships programme is driven by the belief that working together amplifies our collective impact, bringing diverse skills, resources, and perspectives to our mission.

Collaborating with Premier Gospel Radio, for instance, has empowered young people to explore careers in media, while our work with Our Lady and St Hubert’s Catholic Primary School enriches students’ lives with additional learning and personal development support. These partnerships, backed by Sandwell Council, demonstrate the power of coming together to address the unique needs of our community. When we work hand in hand, we’re able to offer young people opportunities that foster growth, confidence, and community pride.

Colleagues Working Together

Where It Happens

Based at HIANA House in Oldbury, Birmingham, our Community Partnerships programme is deeply rooted in the local community, though our reach extends to neighbouring areas. HIANA House serves as a hub for partnership activities, planning sessions, and community events, providing a welcoming space where organisations and young people alike can come together.

Our partnerships with organisations like Premier Gospel Radio allow us to connect young people with experiences outside their usual environments, broadening their horizons. Additionally, our work with Sandwell Council enables us to serve wider communities, providing resources and opportunities for youth development across Birmingham and beyond.
